If you thought that the mobile phone companies had installed all the masts that they needed think again. Vodafone have submitted proposals for a new 12 metre mobile phone mast on land at London Road opposite Harland Way. The submission to Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is a telecommunication application. The planners will have to decide whether a full planning application will be required for the mast.
The mast proposal is on highways land owned by Kent County Council. It is unclear at the present time whether KCC have given permission for the mast to be sited here or what their current policy is on siting masts on their land.
The proposal also abuts the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Green Belt.
